Jeeva known for his versatility, essayed distinctly different roles in films such as a stuntman in Dishyum, a slum dweller in E, and a psychopath in Kattradhu Thamizh, garnering high critical acclaim for his performances, while also achieving commercial success with films like Siva Manasula Sakthi.Though films like Rowthiram and Vandan Vendran bombed in the box-office, blockbuster KO followed by Nanban an ensemble cast movie helped JIIVA establish himself as a prominent hero.Current Salary: 1.5 crores

  • STR Simbu
    Simbu began his career as a child artiste under his father T.Rajendhar’s direction before debuting as hero in Kadhal Azhivathillai. Then Simbu played a dual role in Manmadhan which is also ghost directed by him acclaimed critical success. Later his directorial Vallavan failed in the box office followed by a couple of average grossers. His 25th film Vinnaithandi Varuvaayaa fetched him high praise and became one of the biggest blockbusters earning him a star status in tamil film industry. VTV proved to be a significant turning point in his career, changing his salary mark too.The following year Simbu gave a couple of hits, Vaanam and Osthe both being remakes of Telugu film Vedam and the Hindi blockbuster Dabangg, respectively. After Osthe STR demands a salary of Rs 5 crores per film.

  • Dhanush
    The Young National Award winner started his career under his brothers direction and Kathal Konden proved the duo’s ability to pull the youth audience. Later Dhanush faced few flops before acting again under his brother’s directorial “Pudhupettai”. Though the film bombed in box office it received critical acclaim and praise for Dhanush’s portrayal of Kokki kumar character. Then came Dhanush’s breakthrough from Yaaradi Nee Mohini a film screenplayed by his brother Selvaraghavan.After a couple of medium grossers Dhanush’s fortunes turned with Aadukalam which fetched him a National Award for Best Actor, making him the youngest to receive the award. His next ventures “Mayakkam Enna” and “3″ got commercial success and a single track from “3″ “why this kolaveri Di” becoming viral, Dhanush shot to instant fame globally. No wonder, Dhanush signs movies at a package of 7 crores.

Chiyan Vikram gradually forayed as an action hero through films like Dhill, Dhool, Saami, and Anniyan. But his decline started from Bheema and his much anticipated kandasamy received major blow.Vikram’s revival came in the form of Deiva Thirumagal and it seems Vikram is settling to some sort of form of late. It received a positive response from both viewers and critics and was deemed to be a box office hit. The film was released worldwide in 2010 as the most expensive Indian film ever made, ultimately becoming the highest-grossing film in India of its time. Rajinikanth was paid a remuneration of 45 crores for the film. The industry sources claim that Rajnikanth’s current remuneration would be around Rs 25 ‘ 30 crores.Current Salary: 25 to 30 crores
