Arima Nambi Movie Review

Arima Nambi directed by Anand Shankar is a genuine action flick starring Vikram Prabhu and Priya Anand. Anand Shankar, an associate of A.R. Murugadoss has made a decent debut. Arima Nambi has all the ingredients to become a successful comercial entertainer. The stylish entertainer is racy and pacy, keeping it’s audience glued to their seats right from the start.

Vikram Prabhu (Arjun) falls in love with beautiful Priya Anand (Anamika) at the first sight and even sings a song for her. Impressed by Arjun, Anamika accepts for a date and after dinner she takes him to her posh apartment. Suddenly she is mysteriously abducted by a couple of thugs. Arjun rushes to the nearby cops and informs them about the kidnap but to no use. Trying to reconnect with his estranged lover, Arjun takes the responsibility himself to find her. What follows is a series of mysterious events which forms the crux of movie’s plot. The movie is potently engaging throughout the first half.

Director doesn’t waste scenes to start the proceedings. The plot moves at breakneck pace which makes Arima Nambi stand apart from other action genre movies.

R.D. Rajashekar’s Cinematography captures the film with apt colors blended with high contrasts along with excellent use of lighting. With Most of the scenes being shot during night, R.D.Rajasekhar has done some prodigious work behind the lens. His camera work blends with the blistering tone of the movie which makes the screenplay even more racy and engaging.

Debutant composer Sivamani’s music has blended well with the movie’s visuals and helps greatly in story narration. But songs are a big let-down. Background score comes as a saving grace for the movie’s disappointing songs.

Kalaipuli S.Thanu has made a decent comeback by producing Arima Nambi. Arima Nambi is an engaging commercial thriller filmed stylishly. Definitely worth a watch.
